Interviews & Speaking Engagements
Public Speaking
Master of Ceremonies, International House New York
September 2024 Welcome Sunday Supper
In collaboration with the International House Programs Office and Leadership, it was my honor to host this event and introduce an array of unique musical performers and speakers.
In my remarks, I had the chance to speak about own dual cultural identity as a South Asian child of immigrants in the United States, and how I struggled to understand where I "fit in" as I grew up and even when I first arrived to New York City. Even though it may seem challenging and impossible to embrace your unique self in a society that tries to box us into a set of identities, I encouraged attendees to create their own path and emphasized that everyone does "fit in," even if society may not have a place for you yet.

Social media has dominated our lives since its introduction to mainstream society in the mid-2000s. While it has led to many benefits, it has been at the origin of many severe mental health issues. My talk explores how social media has contributed to changes in societal mental health, and how each person can take control of their social media usage on various platforms to yield more beneficial results for themselves as well as others.
